Every once in a while a human is put on this earth with a bigger heart than the average person, someone who loves harder, forgives faster, hugs better, cries tears of joy just to be around you.
It really is special to have known such a spirit and will know for all of eternity, not everyone can leave such a positive footprint in your sand, not everyone can make you forgive others when you didn’t want to.
Only certain people can make you smile by just thinking about them or putting their false teeth on their nose, make you want to be a better person, or put Ketchup on things you shouldn’t. Uncle Henry was just that person and has left a huge hole in the world with his passing.
The silver lining is that he is now hugging people that have also left us, loving everyone, laughing beautifully and giving treats to dogs on the rainbow bridge.
We are all blessed to have had him in our lives, if we all strive to be 10% of the person he was the world would solve its own problems.
There are no such things as strangers, only friends I haven’t met yet ❤️

i would like to express my deepest condolences to Henry's family. I remember taking my father Fred to visit with Henry's father Jobe and while the two brothers would have their visit, Henry would invite myself and my brothers to his house next door for a cold beer or a glass of his home made wine. Always a gentleman . RIP Henry you are with God now.

So sad to learn of Henry's passing. Our condolences to Patsy and family, what a loss!
I lived near Henry in Timberlea, we were the same age and both from Newfoundland. When I bought our current house in Halifax I checked to see if Henry would do the rebuild. Mr. "Cando" along with Terry and crew did the job in one week without the power tools they have today. Henry was such a dynamic and colourful character all the neighbors would gather around to enjoy the action. Many Newfoundlanders lived on the street and were proud to claim him as their own. He was a "character" in the best sense of the word, always up and full steam ahead. Henry was the type of person you always wanted to run into on your travels. He always made the day brighter. I have met many people around town when learning I was from Newfoundland asked if I knew Henry Thorne. That would start a long discussion and story-telling event. It confirmed that everyone held him in the same high regard as I did. He was and will be unforgettable. I am sure he will be "present" for the family in every way possible as they absorb this loss. Good people leave good memories. Rest in peace Henry!

Patsy, Terry, Susan and family,
My heart goes out to all of you, Henry (or Uncle Henry as our family always referred to him as) was a wonderful man with a huge heart and a fantastic sense of humour. I few months ago I had the opportunities to have a great chat with him; Pasty, you were having eye surgery and so was Tom - so Henry and I chatted for about an hour; he had such wonderful things to say about all of you - he loved you so much Pasty and so proud of his kids. Love you all. Michelle (Walsh) Hunter and family. XO

Our condolences to Henry's family. Henry was a wonderful volunteer for us when we opened The Marguerite Centre in 2002. He drove the residents to many meetings and appointments in all kinds of weather. He was very faithful and ready to come when we called him outside of his regular volunteer hours. Henry had a wonderful personality and always had a smile to give and a story to share. It was wonderful to see him during the last few years at St Benedict's.
If there is a special place for volunteers in heaven Henry is right up there!!! We are very grateful Henry that you were there for us all those years. Sisters Mary and Connie, CND

Patsy and family,
I was so sorry to hear about Henry. I always remember Henry with a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Before he became a "retiree", he was such a good friend to my late husband, Peter Greer, and served as a dedicated and exemplary member of the Executive of Local 83. After he retired, I remember running into you both a couple of times when I was on my lunch break from work at the Casino restaurant - you both seemed so happy to be together full time again.
I will always remember Henry as he is in the photo you have shared - with a big grin and either a prank up his sleeve or a joke in his mind about to be delivered. I also remember the vivid stories he shared about his early life when we were all in Moncton one time so long ago.
A life well-lived.
My sincere condolences, Alison Strachan

We have known Henry for the last 10 years in our condo building. He had a wonderful personality and was well known by all here. His special times included friendly hugs and going for coffee with friends. Everybody knew - when Henry was around. I personally had an excellent coffee going relation with Henry and we talked about our jobs and life in general. To Patsy and Family, our thoughts will always be there. Richard & Linda Robertson
