It has been at least 40 years since I spent time with Tom. My Grandmother Marge Dibb used to babysit both he & Kate. We lost touch of course with our age gap as he was the handsome maturing 8 year old boy and I was the playful little 4 year old girl. I heard of his passing from a very close mutual friend who he played Basketball with and against for years(unaware that we both knew Tom until today).
I instantly grabbed my childhood photo album to send along the only photo memories I have. He made a lasting impression on me as I am sure he did many others. I am so sorry for your loss as he has been taken far too soon. Please accept my deepest condolences
Sincerely,
Vanessa Dibb

My deepest sympathy to Heather, Max and Andrew,
I met your Tom/Dad back in the 1990's. He started as a summer student working at Chocolate Lake Community Centre and St Mary's Boat Club. I was the Area Recreation Manager, now retired.
Tom created memorable camps for 100's of youngsters and teens. He was a popular instructor camp leader with parents, youngsters and with his fellow camp staff. We were lucky to have Tom on staff.
I have lots of fond memories of your Tom. He worked with a group of us who are still friends, so we have reconnected via Zoom to reminisce. Tom worked with us for 5 or 6 years which offered us lots of stories and moments to share.
Shocking to think that 6'5'" Tom with the best smile and infectious laugh has left us. I am so sad for your incredible loss.
Heather, Max and Andrew you are in my thoughts,
Joan McDonell

Tom and I went to Rockingham and Halifax West together. We ran in to each other from time to time over the years and no matter how much time had passed he was always the “Tommy” I grew up with, a great sense of humour, a passion for sports, and very much a part of the Rockingham family I grew up with. I was shocked and truly saddened to hear of his passing. My heart goes out to his family at this difficult and tragic time ❤️

My deepest sympathies for the entire family! My thoughts and prayers are with you all, especially for Max and Andrew, who I have had the pleasure to teach for several years in elementary Phys.ed. After reading the obituary, I can see where the boys get their passion for life and laughter and their enthusiasm for sports and activity. I hope they can find some comfort in the special times they spent with their father and in the connections they shared.

I wanted to pass on how deeply sad I am about my lovely cousin Tom. It has been such a treat to re-connect with him these past years. I remember him so well as a wee boy and his big warm smile that never changed as he grew up. Sending all my condolences to the whole family. With love, Eve (MacDonald)

I had the pleasure of playing basketball with Tom in high school, and several times against him over the years (although those were generally a lot less pleasurable for me). The man was a true warrior in every sense of the word, and someone I would have on my team any day. Our lives have taken us in different directions (I have lived in the UK for last 25 years), so we have lost touch, but I was very saddened to hear of his untimely passing. I have so many happy memories of the time when our lives overlapped. My thoughts go out to his wife and children.
Rest in peace #34.

Dear Max, Heather, Andrew and family,
I am very sorry to hear of Tom's passing. What seems like long ago, when Max was in my class in grade two, I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Max, Heather and Tom. I still remember how Max was always so proud to speak and share stories about his family and his father. It was a joy to work with a kind family that supported and loved each other so much. Max, I think of you often and always wish the best for you, but at a time like this I send you (and your family) all of the strength, positive energy, prayers and healing thoughts you may need. My deepest condolences to you all.
Love, Ms. (Roberta) St-Pierre xo

I attended high school and SMU with Tom, but hadn't crossed paths with him all these years. It's of no surprise that he chose a career as a front line emergency responder. I find myself thinking of his wife and two boys. Please know you have a virtual community thinking of you at this unthinkable time. God bless. Xo Lucy Hill.

I worked with Tom for a number of years and had the benefit of his intelligence, clinical skill and inquiry, and his caring heart. It has been a few years but hearing of this saddens me and I know countless others. Tom was a good man. Plain and simply. I can only hope the pain of his loss is lessened by the the knowledge of how great his touch was on his community, his profession and, I know, to you, his family.

I went all through school with Tommy and because we sat alphabetically in class, I always had to move my desk either to the left or right to see the board because he sat directly in front of me.
We lost touch over the years but I was sad to hear of his passing. Take comfort in knowing he had left this world for a better one.

I had the pleasure of working alongside Tom when he came to work at EMS Amherst. Always a professional, Tom was a great guy to work with. I remember well, the stories of his paramedic training in Pittsburgh and the cast of characters and adventures he had while there. Many a night the duty crew in Amherst, no calls permitting, would gather around the tv for 'Third Watch' and any program with EMS in it. Sincere condolences to the Dobson family. May you take comfort in the knowledge that Tom was widely respected and admired for all that he did. Rest in peace, 'big country..' We are all better people for knowing you.

So many memories of seeing Tom and Heather with their boys over the years. Our sons (Andrew and Reese) were the best of friends and I would see their family often at school, daycare, hockey, at play dates
Tom was a great father.

tom and his family would often come into our hair salon first choice haircutters (tantallon) we've gotten to know him and just how involved and proud he was of his two boys max and andrew. Over the years we've watched him and his wife raise their children into fabulous human beings, they are a beautiful tribute to their father's character. Tom will always live on through his possitive legacy.

Heartbreaking. I worked at EHS with Tom for going on 8 years and more recently was his admin assistant for Central Operations. He was the most genuine and professional person I ever worked for. A smile that brightened a room. I truly enjoyed coming to the office when he was there. I was shocked to hear this and think of him and the family often. He will forever be missed and I hold the memories of working along side of him closely.
Deepest sympathies.

It seems so unreal, and a big part of me seems to have left since I heard of your passing. The memories of all the good times, funny messages and political talks will love on forever. Your dedication to the profession of Paramedicine is significant and will contribute to bettering the lives of many for years to come.
