Obituary of Teddy Hinchey

James Theodore Hinchey Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James ‘Teddy’ Hinchey, age 85. Teddy passed away peacefully Sunday morning, March 22, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, NS. Born in New Waterford, Teddy was the son of the late Patrick M. Hinchey and Viola (MacDonald) Hinchey. Teddy was a well known businessman for many years in Cape Breton. More recently, he enjoyed his retirement years. He could often be found at the local coffee establishments, telling stories about the good old days. Teddy is survived by children, Anne Marie (Stephen) Marsh, Patrick (Tanya) Hinchey, Maureen (Mike) Collins. He will also be greatly missed by brothers, Patrick (Ricky) sister-in-law (predeceased Pauline Hinchey),Gregory Hinchey and sisters, Helen Howell-Belcher and (Charles) Belcher, Theresa (Floyd) MacAulay, Clara Jean Hinchey and Brian Geary. Teddy also leaves behind seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. As per Teddy’s wishes, there will be no visitation or memorial service. Arrangements are entrusted to T.J.
