Dear Danielle,
We are so sorry about the loss of your dad. We've made a donation in his memory to the Glace Bay Food Bank. It sounds as though DanJoe knew the value of a good meal shared with friends and we hope this donation will provide that for a Glace Bay family.
Sincerely,
Cheryl on behalf of your literacy colleagues

My sincere condolences to all of DanJoe's family and friends. Like his parents before him, he kept an open house where all were welcome. He will be missed by many.

he would venture down and listen to us play while enjoying a pint, his love for music could be best exemplified when a chord or song struck him the right way instinctively on many occasions he would share his rendition of the old soft shoe with us .. Rest easy pal !! thoughts and prayers with the O'Connell family .

Linda we all share your sadness today and will keep you in our prayers. Dan Joe was a great person and even greater as a friend. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to share a friendship with Dan Joe for so many years. His humour was a gift and it was so nice of him to share it with everybody. Until we hook up again my friend.

My deepest sympathy to Dan Joe’s family. Dan Joe was a true original- he travelled his own funny, happy, never a dull moment path! He told me once that he couldn’t understand people who said they were bored - he said very enthusiastically “ I have never been bored a single minute!” ... now that’s DanJoe. I also greatly appreciated what a wonderful friend he was to my father. My heart breaks for all of you.
