Mary Paulette Poirier Reserve Mines It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of our dear mother, Paulette Poirier, on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Cyril and Bridget (Kendall) Poirier, Dominion. She was a loving mother and nanny, all of her children were the apple of her eye, who she was so very proud of. She was an example of how a person can be strong and timid at the same time no matter what. She was someone who demonstrated resilient will to spend more time with loved ones despite her ongoing personal health issues, the most courageous, strong willed woman. Mom was a person who taught this without a classroom or lecture, just being who she was. Nanny gave the best hugs and made everyone feel loved. She made the best apple pies, she would bring them to every family gathering. Mom was our earth angel and we loved her dearly. Paulette is survived by her son Paul Cooke; daughters, Kim Cooke, Josie (Kenny) MacDonald, Nicole Cooke (Norman), and Roxanne (Ed) Hall; her pride and joy, her grandchildren, Jordon, Jasmine, Cole, Lukas, Landon, Alyssa and Myah. She is also survived by brothers, Cyril, John D. (Brenda), George; sisters, Colleen Sponagle, Bridget Musial, Rita MacNamara (Steven), as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at a later date. Thank you very much to all the doctors and nurses through the years. Special thanks to all the staff at the Heart Function Clinic at Cape Breton Regional Hospital and to the doctors, nurses and staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Irish Cove where mom made many friends. Thank you for making Mom’s last days so memorable. Donations may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com
