I just stumbled on Bill's Obituary today. On behalf of Wayne and Lynn Smith we offer our heart felt condolences to Lorraine and family! In 1982 I was hired out of University by Bill. Lorraine, you and Bill welcomed us into the CBDC and your home with open arms. The lobster parties at your place in Mira Gut are a fond memory. I was always amazed by the flock of colorful birds Bill was attracting to your home feeder. Take care and God Bless!.

On behalf of Pat and Raymond LaPointe, who grew up and went to school and UNB with Billy, we extend our condolences to Lorraine and family. Billy was indeed a character, and he kept everyone around "in stitches" with his razor sharp wit. We last saw Billy and Lorraine plus a couple of grandchildren in Dalhousie at his 25th high school reunion. It was obvious he had found a wonderful family and was happy to be part of it. Keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers, Pat, wife Lydia, and Raymond LaPointe

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Even though I have not seen him for 45 years, I have great memories on our interaction as we we class mates at UNB and then we lived together, 4 bachelors, early in our engineering career in a townhouse on Macaulay's Lane. From his bio it is obvious he lived a full rich life and had a wonderful loving family. May God give you peace and comfort.

My deepest and most sincere condolences to Lorraine and family with Bill's passing. Bill was my manager when I worked with Engineering at DEVCO and he was such a gentle man....and a gentleman! He treated everyone fairly and with such respect. Bill had a great sense of humor so there was always laugher within the department. I've thought of him and Lorraine many times over the years. May he rest in eternal peace.

Lorraine and Family,
Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your great loss. Bill was a gem. I was newly widowed when I started working at CBCL with Bill back in 1999. It didn’t take long to feel like I was working with family. He had a way of making us all feel like extended family and he brightened our day with his presence, charisma, and wit. On Valentine’s Day, he gave all the ladies a gift. That kindness will never be forgotten. The world is a sadder place without his gentle spirit. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time.

Bill always made our day at CBCL, he continuously brought us candy and trinkets and made an effort to put a smile on everyone's face. Bill was an expert in his field, a real asset to the company. He was humble, helpful and very much a gentleman. We love you Bill, rest in peace. Lorraine, our thoughts are with you.

Lorraine, so sorry to hear about Bill. Bill was my first engineering boss and was a great mentor during my time at DEVCO. Bill made everyone feel welcomed and respected and his sense of humor was second to none. I remember my first softball game down at the pier, during the game I hit a grounder to the second basemen and I hustled down to 1st only to be called out, when I got back to the bench Bill yelled (with his hands flailing) out to me that I was as fast as a pit horse dragging a dead one. We all had a great laugh. When I think back to my DEVCO days I often think of Bill and the good times we had as a group. Bill will be missed, my condolences.

It was with sadness, that we read of Bills passing. I grew up in Dalhousie, NB. and spent my school years knowing Bill. Life took us all on different courses ,and often news would trickle down from Iris, Peggy , and Tim. Was glad to read that his life was filled with love, with Lorraine. May you share wonderful memories in this time of sorrow. Brenda Tait Nutter.

When I think of Bill, I recall the many times I called to talk to Lorraine, and always ended up chatting with Bill about birds. He loved the birds and at their home in Mira there were lots of bird feeders! Bill knew so much about birds, he was a walking encyclopedia !
Once he took Lorraine, myself and Madeline to Broughton to explore the foundations of what was once a busy, bustling place, and of course, Bill knew everything about it! That trip took about 3 hours, in August, and we were almost eaten alive by bugs! Great memories of a wonderful friend and I for one will always remember him fondly. Rest In Peace Bill.
