Lawrence “Larry” Walker, 68 of Halifax (formerly Reserve Mines,C.B.) died March 9th in the Halifax Infirmary QE11 Health Science Centre.
Born in 1951, he was the son of the late Bernard and Gertrude (Bates) Walker.
Although his heart remembered Cape Breton as a laborer and serving in the Reserve Fire Dept., his passion was realized while working as a crane operator in Fort MacMurray, Alberta. He spent many joyful years in the West.
Later, he found himself living at Northwood Retirement Estates, Gottingen Street, Halifax. There, he found a loving and friendly family of residents and wonderful understanding staff.
It was his last wish to thank all of his Northwood friends, especially his caring assistants and Tina Feth, Manager of Retirement Living. Northwood Halifax Campus.
Tina ! you were his Earth Angel!
Larry is survived by his sister Kathleen (Bedford), brother Hugh (Colina) Valley NS and niece Kathleen (Halifax).
Special thanks, from the family, to all the very capable staff of the Halifax Infirmary who made Larry’s final journey home very comfortable and peaceful.
Cremation has taken place. Grave site burial in Cape Breton to be announced at a later date.
