Obituary of David Owen Kiley

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with deepest sadness that we say goodbye to our Father, Brother, Grandfather and Uncle; David was the son of the late John Owen and Margaret (nee Christian) Kiley of Prospect NS. David spent his early years lobster fishing with his Father. In high school David joined the Naval Reserves at HMCS SCOTIAN where he served for five years which lead to working at HMC Dockyard as a deck hand on several of the yard tugboats. He later moved back to Prospect where he fished once again until MS would no longer allow him to work. David is survived by his son, William Owen (Lindsey); daughter, Maddie; sisters, Dorothy (Danny) and Peggy (Trent); grandson, Benjamin Owen, nephews; Daniel and Joshua; niece, Nicole Margaret. He is also survived by his special care giver and friend Carol Garrison who David referred to as “Ma” as she took such good care of him in recent years. The family is eternally grateful for Carol’s kindness. David is predeceased by a younger brother Patrick, in infancy. You are now at peace, dear David. We wish you happy fishing with Dad. Cremation has taken place, arrangements will be under the care of TJ Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialists, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Bayer’s Lake, (902)-835-4212 where a Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 13th, 2020 from 2-4pm. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Melville Lodge for their wonderful loving care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the MS Society or to a charity of choice.
