Obituary of Eileen Simmons

Eileen Simmons Glace Bay It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful wife and mother, Eileen after a courageous battle with cancer on March 8, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, An Cala Unit. Born in Glace Bay on October 7, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Margareta (Winstanley) Bradbury. Eileen is survived by her husband of 60 years, George ‘Sonny’, her four children, Kim (Mike), Greg (Barb), Rob (Shauna) and Stephen (Susan). She was also a grandmother to eight beautiful grandchildren, Vicki (Sandy), Jennifer (Ryan), Brett (Rochelle), Erika (Taylor), Amanda, Torre, Jessica and beautiful baby Bryar; her two precious great grandchildren Jacob and Sawyer. She is survived her sisters, Alice, Beatrice, Lois, Carol, and brother, Bob. Eileen was predeceased by her brothers, Henry and Lawrence. Mom was happiest when her family and friends were around. A stay at home mom, her door was open to everyone. She loved to watch her husband and children at their numerous sporting events and could be heard cheering the loudest from the bleachers,known for her quick wit and funny comebacks, mom was known by all as someone who really enjoyed life. She will be missed. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or services. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care. Arrangements are entrusted to T.J.
