Fred Kosick Glace Bay, 82 It is with great sadness that we announce that Fred packed up the fiddle and went home on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Born in Glace Bay in 1938, he was the son of the late John and Antonina (Drabek) Kosick. Dad served in the military for three years before training in auto body repair. He then worked as a miner for 26 years. Dad was a quiet and private man. He loved his time at the cabin in Loch Lomand. Fred was a smart man who could repair anything and didn’t mind sharing his talents with family, friends and neighbours. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Nancy, his son Michael(Mabelann), daughter Shannon; grandchildren, Hannah (Ben)and Maya; Sister Olga (Andy Saytar); sisters-in-law, Lois Kosick and Rose Kosick. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Francie, Violet, Mary and Helen; as well as brothers Stevie, Cecil and Alec. A special thank-you to the staff of 3-West, Glace Bay Hospital, for your kindness and caring. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Glace Bay Food Bank or Charity of choice. Cremation has taken place. Visitation for Fred will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. A ccelebration of life service will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2020 with Rev.
