Obituary of Sharon Whiting Myra

Sharon Collette Whiting Myra Glace Bay It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Sharon Collette Whiting (Myra) on March 4, 2020 with her loving family by her side. Sharon was born March 22,1951, the daughter of Layla Murphy and the late James Whiting of Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. Sharon is survived by her two daughters, Melanie Crane (Jeff) and Wendy Murray (Brian) and her five grandchildren Makenna, Connor, Brendan, Ryland and Brooklyn all of whom she was so incredibly proud of. Also surviving are her three brothers, James Whiting (Darlean), Kevin Whiting (Nancy) and Richard Whiting (Melanie) and her many nieces and nephew Lisa (James), Kaitlin, Jamie, Kayla, Jenna, Ace and Jaxen. She is also survived by her aunt (who was more like a sister) Josephine Matheson (Ronald) and uncles Angus Roberts (Maria) and John Roberts. Sharon had many cousins whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her sister, Cathy. Sharon was an incredible lady who devoted all her life to caring for those she loved. While not trying to be, it was very clear that she was the heart and soul of our family and for that we will be forever grateful. In her passing, Sharon was reunited with her 6 year old son Glenn. It was knowing this that gave her unimaginable strength and comfort. Sharon has asked that there be no funeral but rather an internment with family members at a later date. The family would like to thank all the staff at the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital as well as the VON for their amazing care and support during this difficult time. We cannot say enough. In lieu of flowers or cards we ask that donations be made to the palliative care unit. As her daughters we know how much Sharon is missed already by her family and many friends and we will all continue to honour and celebrate her life every day. Mom we know you realized these past few months just how much you meant to everyone whose life you touched and please know that we speak for everyone when we say "We love you more".
