It saddens me to learn of Chris' passing and I send so much love and the sweet memory of times well spent with Chris to all of his family and dear friends. I had the joy of growing up on the same street as Chris and knowing his kind heart from a young boy onward. We were good buddies for over 18 years. I can still hear his laughter. I send my condolences from Vancouver all the way back to Dominion where I know many hearts are crushed with this news. May he rest in peace knowing he touched the lives of so many people.

I won’t forget the slo pitch, hockey and golf regionals. I remember you took the plastic off my 8 iron and told me I should at least try all my clubs. I remember we got promoted to Warrant the same day. I remember you guys letting me crash at your PMQ during the curling spiel and we played beer pong in between games. But I remember we actually won that awesome chefs table at Earls. I remember writing notes in long meetings during Ex MR and I remember laughing at you because I got out of Wainwright before you did. I’m still in shock. Rest easy buddy, you will be missed.

What I like about Chris was his no nonsense attitude. He was to the point, but with no BS in between. Accomplished what was needed the most effective way. Fair, thoughtful soldier. On a personal side, his easy going attitude to have fun. I would laugh when he would come to my office to just chat, often always sitting on the floor and not a chair. I will miss seeing him, seeking his guidance and most of all his bright smile and laugh that would brighten a room. RIP MWO Burns.
You will be missed and thank you.

I had the pleasure of knowing chris for almost 20 years. I have been deployed with him overseas, played with and against him in military ball hockey, ice hockey and golf. He was a very special friend to me and will always have a place in my heart. My condolences go to his family and friends. RIP my friend

It was with great sadness to hear of the sudden loss of Chris. It was like a bad dream to say the least. I spent a great deal of time with Chris in the service he was a good buddy of mine. He was a great soldier a great athlete a great leader, but most of all Chris was a great friend. I could tell many stories of the times we shared but that's for another time. Chris had a very successful career and wore the uniform with pride. Chris excelled in everything he set out to do and set the example for others. He will be forever missed by his family friends and military family. To the Burns family I'm so sorry for your loss and wish I could be there. Rest In Peace Burnsie From your buddy Jason Dawe and family.
