Raymond “Doug” Ellsworth It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and nephew on February 14, 2020, his 66th Birthday in the An Cala Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his loving family at his side. Doug grew up in Dominion and was the oldest son of the late Richie and Jenny Ellsworth. In his younger years, Dougie trained horses along side of his father and never missed a race day at Tartan Downs with his brother Jackie and son Richie. Dougie worked many years in the 26, Prince, Phalen and Lingan Mines. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theresa, Son Richie (Carey), Daughters Jennifer (Andy), Nancy (Belinda). He was Poppie to Nathan, Nicholas, Brayden, Jordan, Payton and Lucas. He was brother to Jackie (Sandra), Joanne (Joe), Michelle (Doug), Bernie (Nancy), Sharon (Myles), Mardi (Robert) and Tommy, and also Uncle and Great Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father Richie in 1998, mother Jenny in 2007, and nephew Chad in 2004. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 6-9 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. (902) 849-4199. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 20, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, Bridgeport with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating.
