Obituary of Richard Joseph Filion

Richard Joseph Filion, from Timberlea, NS, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2020 at the Halifax Hospice in his 91st year. Richard moved to Nova Scotia in 2002, from Hawkesbury, ON. Beloved father of Sharon Auger (Jacques) of Hawkesbury, ON; the late Paul Filion (Maxine) of Newmarket, ON & Carol Ann Brake (Stephen) of Timberlea, NS. Cherished grandfather of Chantale, Eric, Christopher, Justin, Michael, David & Matthew; great-grandfather of Mia, Tessa, Tristan, Juliette & William. He is also survived by his brother Jean-Maurice (Louise) & sister-in-law Ginette. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Alphonse & Cécile Filion (Lefebvre), his wife Marie (Hynes) & his siblings Réginald (Aline), Rita (Gérard), Réjean (Pauline), Reine and Jean-Charles. The family would like to thank the Halifax Hospice for their great care. A funeral service will be held at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Parish, Upper Tantallon, on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at a later date in Carleton Place, Ontario.
