Obituary of Patrica Ann Burke

Patsy Burke, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2020. Born in New Waterford in 1948, her life began in 1973 when she met her soulmate, Terry Burke. Their lifelong partnership started on Plummer Avenue when she offered to take him for a ride in her new car. Together, they worked hard and raised two daughters who were their pride and joy. Patsy spent 35 years in the nursing profession caring for others. She was the most determined person we knew. If she set her mind to something she achieved it. She loved her family fiercely and gave us everything she could. Patsy will be deeply missed by her husband Terry, who has adored her for the past 46 years and by daughters Nancy (Derrick Morton) and Susan (Ron Priefer). She will also be greatly missed by her grand babies David, Veronica, and Digby. Patsy was predeceased by her in-laws, Aggie and Jack Burke, who loved her like their own. She will be fondly remembered for her compassion as a caregiver, her kindness as a friend, her devotion as a wife, her wisdom as a mother (‘big stuff here, small stuff somewhere else’), and her love for a banana split. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. A private memorial will be held at a later date. In Patsy's memory, we ask that you show kindness to others and treat yourself to a banana split.
