Annie Elizabeth “Betty” Budden Glace Bay We regret to announce the Passing of Annie Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Budden on Jan. 11, 2020 at Seaview Manor. Born in Glace Bay December 5, 1933 to the late Harrold and Mary (Parsons) Martin. Betty is survived by daughters, Jo-Anne Campbell ( Bernie) , Wendy MacDonald ( Angus);son Harrison Budden ( Nadara) ,grandmother to Lindsay MacDonald ( Jessie MacInnis) , Brittany Budden ( Steve Csernyik), Hailey Budden; great grandmother to Camden MacInnis ; sister to Karen Nichol (Don Dickson), David Martin (Barbra) as well as many nieces and nephews. In Betty’s early years, she was an employee of numerous retail businesses ( Sears and Eaton’s to name a few) and then joined her husband George in forming M & B Wholesale in 1978. George and Betty worked side by side until their retirement in 1996. During those years, together they shared a love for travel and camping in southern US and the highlands of Cape Breton. Betty and George also shared the love of outdoor sports such as ice fishing, snowmobiling and ploughing friends and family out of the snow. Betty was predeceased by the Love of her Life, husband George Budden; her sisters Diane MacMillan and Verna Durant. We the family would love to give a sincere thank you to the VON and home care services that took care of our mother through the years and a special thank you to the staff of the Seaview Manor for your kindness and compassion to her, especially in the last few days. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 18,2020 from 12- 1 p.m. with a memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. with Major Rocky Bishop officiating at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seaview Manor, Glace Bay Food Bank or charity of your choice. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com
