Nick Vihos passed away on October 15, 2024, at Glace Bay General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Tripiti, Milos, Greece, he was the son of the late John and Stavroula (Kampouraki) Vihos.
Nick is survived by his three children, Tina (Jr), Lula (Dave), and John (Jill); his grandchildren, Angela (Keegan), Renee (Kirk), Nikolas, and Johnny; and his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Sophia; two brothers Michalis (Greece) and Ilias (Greece); He also leaves behind his nieces Tasia, Maria and Xenia and nephews Stavros, George, and Dimitri.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Koula, his sister Marina, and his brother Aristhesis.
As a skilled carpenter and dedicated business owner (Casino Billiards, TLJ Convenience, Koula’s Boutique, Cotton Plus) he took pride in his work and the impact it had on his community. Known for his keen eye for detail, Nick had a unique ability to notice the little things. Everyone knew and loved him, often going out of their way to visit and share a story. Dad brought so much joy to our lives with his laughter-filled moments, creating memories that will last forever. Nick was also a respected landlord, known for his fairness and kindness. An award-winning gardener, he found joy in nurturing his plants with his wife Koula, sharing the beauty of his garden with family and friends.
Nick served proudly in the Greek Naval Forces, exemplifying dedication and service to his country. His warm spirit and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 4-7 pm at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11 am in Sts. Anargaree Greek Orthodox Church, 17 Marconi St., Glace Bay.
