Our father Kenneth Ross Morris aged 93 passed away from natural causes in his home, September 12, 2024. Dad was more then a father to sons Kenny and Rick, he was their mentor, hero and best friend. He was born in Halifax, December 28, 1930 to parents Thomas Ernest “Mickey” Morris and Lily Hope Morris (Young). On September 16, 1952 he married the love of his life Catherine “Katie” Beazley. They have two sons Ken and Rick. September 2002, they held a celebration of their 50th Anniversary at their home. Together they enjoyed trips to Maine often accompanied with sisters-in-law Marie Barnhill, Susan Robson, Noreen Murphy and brother-in-law Ed Murphy. As well as a couple of winter months in Florida with Noreen and Ed. Dad was a talent of many trades including auto mechanics and carpentry. He built their house in Halifax for the most part by himself and repaired his own cars. However, in his later years he relied on the assistance of Rick to work on his vehicles. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son Rick, watching hockey and old westerns with son Kenny. Dad was a kind and generous man full of wisdom, honesty and wit. Not one to brag and very humble about himself. Respected by many for his good common sense and family morals. To Dad family always came first. One of his desires was to visit Gettysburg Civil War site or attend a live NHL game. Sadly, none were realized. He was well read in in history and a brilliant knowledge of world events. In 1992 Dad retired from the Royal Bank and enjoying his retirement with Katie. For the last four years of his life, he was confined to the second floor of his house due to mobility issues and required the assistance of a walker given to him by niece Mary Anne Waite. Despite his degradation of health, he never gave up, maintaining a positive attitude and never complaining. Enjoying the weekly visitations of his younger brother Robert. Many nieces and nephews considered him their second father. Besides Dad's parents, he was predeceased by sister Marion and brothers Carl and William. Survived by sons Ken and Rick (Ann), Upper Tantallon, brothers Robert (Pauline), Lower Sackville and Ronald, Lower Sackville. There is comfort knowing that he is now re-united with Katie, the love of his life. Dad will be mourned by all who knew him. Ken and Rick both believe they are better men because of their father guidance and only hope to equal the standards he has set as their benchmark in life. As per Dad's request there will not be any service or wake.
