Obituary of Robert Joseph Glasco

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Glasco, Robert Joseph - August 4, 1952 - August 3, 2024 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert Glasco. He was our Robert, our Pops, our Poppy Bob, and our friend. He shared his love of fishing with us all, often with a can of Pepsi in hand. We’re thankful for so many moments shared with Pop- drenched in lake water after an audacious trek, or a quiet morning with a cup of Tetley tea strolling along Shaw Lake; he would be there with his wraparound shades perched expertly on a ball cap, never afraid to be the first to laugh - often at himself. Robert was an expert carpenter, he lived a life full of craftsmanship, and took pride in fixing what was broken, with tools, with words, and with kindness. (Okay… maybe a curse or two.) Robert’s memory is cherished by the love of his life, Florence (Floss), daughter Wanda and son in law Stephen Squires, grandsons Shane Burton, James Robert Cox, Gregory (Brittany) and Jared “Little Bob” Squires. Pop’s girl, granddaughter Melissa and husband Adam Pennell. Close family friends, Paula Thorne, Debbie Burton, Michelle and Damian Gosse. His good friends, Darrell and Darren, and all his buddies at Shaw Lake, especially Russell, Randy, and Mark. Also left to mourn are his sisters; Deb, Donna (Tom), Barb (Pat), Georgina, Jancy (Gerard), Kelly, and brothers; Wayne, Joey, Randy, and Brian (Susan). Sister in laws; Judy, Liz, Patsy and brother in law John. Also, a large number of family and friends in St. John’s, NL and Halifax, NS. He was predeceased by son, Jimmy, parents Joan and Joseph, sister Carol, brother Dean, great-nephew Nathan Corneau, and mother in law, Floss Mercer. At Robert’s request cremation has taken place. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Rd., on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 10 a.m. - 1p.m. Funeral services to take place at Caul’s Chapel at 1 p.m. Inurnment to follow at General Protestant Cemetery, Waterford Bridge Road. Everyone who loved Pop won’t have to think hard for a treasured memory, or lasting message they wish to share, so we’ve selected a verse from one of his favourite songs to express how all who miss him are feeling: I can only say the pleasure has been mine For at least I got to know you for a time But now you're gone I don't know what I'll do There's a blue moon over my world without you
