Obituary of William Taylor Appleby
I’ve got the moon and the stars inside me, I am the closest sun,
Venus holds her arms out to me calling me to come.
I’m trying I sighed, I’m flying I cried, I’m slipping earthly bonds.
Orion holds the dawn and I’m free.
We said goodbye to our north star, our meteorologist, our musician, our glass half full husband, father, Grampy, big brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to so many. Music filled his heart, his life, and his world. To honour Bill, and in lieu of flowers, remember he believed that
Prejudice is not the law, and neither is the sword,
and that shackles tighten only with the close of our minds’ eye.
Penny, Sean, Tara, John, Aislin, Doug, and Jenny will forever remember this man with more love than a heart can hold.
Dad, here is one more mighty blow, meow and the last escargot. End of story.
Thank you to Brian Martin and Jo-Ann Rolls for ensuring Bill will be celebrated the same way that he lived. Bill was beyond grateful for Dr. Kylene MacKillop, the palliative nurses, VON nurses, EHS, Medi-Gas, and the staff at the cancer centre who all made this road a little easier to travel. We are thankful for the kindness of the folks at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 6 Churchill Drive, Sydney, NS, who showed Bill and us such kindness and respect.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Capri, Sunday, July 28 from 4-6 pm.
