James "Jamie" Bonaparte

Obituary of James "Jamie" Cordell Bonaparte

Please share a memory of James "Jamie" to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we the family announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend Jamie Bonaparte. Born in Glace Bay, N.S., Jamie was the son of the late John “Jack” Bonaparte and Geraldine (Aucoin) Bonaparte. Growing up around his father’s company he learned to drive a backhoe pretty early on and could operate like no other, chances are every time you saw him, he would be in it. Reserve mines will never be the same without him plowing in the winter. Jamie was immensely proud of his children and never missed the opportunity to talk about how good his son Ty was at hockey or any sport for that matter and how his daughter Kersten blessed him with the happiest baby in the world, his granddaughter Lennon (his little turkey). Dad could tell you the make, model, and year of every car on every lot from here to Halifax, as that was one of his favourite past times and we know it because he would drag us along with him. Dad liked to enjoy a drink with the music blaring with all his best buddies, who will dearly miss him, but his favourite past time was hanging out with his son and daughter together in the back yard. Jamie is survived by his daughter Kersten (Andrew), son Ty, and the sparkle in his eye “poppy’s girl” Lennon. He will be deeply missed by his sister Joleen (Joe); nephews Hayden and Wyatt, and his special buddy Cody; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends near and far. As dad was “a big mama’s boy,” we know he is now at peace with nan, papa and his best friend, his big brother Jackie. We would like to send out a special thank you to Adrian Currie for being there at a time it was needed most. As per Jamie’s request cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. 9+02-849-4199. Words of comfort may be expressed to Jamie’s family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
