Born in Belleoram Newfoundland to Reginald T. Keeping and Florence Anne Keeping (nee Keeping). He was a true Newfoundlander through and through forever tied to that province. As a Newfoundlander he was always quick witted and ready with a joke. His early years were shared with his 3 sisters and 1 brother. Professionally his life was filled with a variety of careers. The first being Imperial Oil, then J. Petite & Sons and then he purchased a grocery store from his in-laws in Belleoram Newfoundland and finished his career with Molson Canadian. In 1957 Thomas married the love of his life Martha and they were happily married for 66 years until his passing. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter and the joyous hustle and bustle of raising two children. For years he was lead singer in various bands in Newfoundland and after he moved to Nova Scotia in 1999 along with his brother-in-law Bill May they formed the band Chain and Anchor which played traditional Newfoundland Irish and maritime music with a bit of country and rock and roll thrown in. He was an avid reader always seeking knowledge and had a special interest in history and current events. He loved crosswords and watching any kind of sporting events and was considered an excellent cook who always enjoyed cooking for his wife and any one that would stop by for a visit.
