Donna Ann Mullins (MacMillan), 69
Reserve Mines, N.S.
Donna Ann Mullins (MacMillan), 69, of Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born to the late Malcolm and Ruby MacMillan, Donna's life was filled with love, laughter, and the enduring strength of her spirit.
Survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Sheldon Mullins, Donna's love story with Sheldon was one for the ages—marked by mutual respect, deep affection, and countless shared adventures. Together, they raised two daughters, Michelle (Andrew Wade) and LeeAnne (Robert Fleming), of whom Donna was so proud.
Donna is also survived by her sister, Kay Wilson (the late Earl Wilson), and her brother, Roy MacMillan (Gezele). She is predeceased by her sisters Paulette (who died in infancy), Jean Comeau (Maurice), and Laura Madore (Billy).
Donna had many hobbies, like toll painting and collecting seashells, but her true passion was gardening. She was an avid gardener who found joy in every flower she encountered. Traveling was another favorite pastime of Donna's. Family vacations and camping trips were remarkable, thanks to her motto of "Always be prepared," a lesson she honed as a Girl Guide leader. Her love for travel continued throughout her life, and she loved exploring destinations like Florida, the Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Many of these adventures in her later years were shared with her husband and their close circle of friends, affectionately known as "The Crew." No matter where they were, they were always together, playing cards and telling jokes. Donna also had a lifelong best friend, Pauline McIsaac, with whom she shared countless adventures. Their friendship began on the swings at Queen Elizabeth Park as children and continued to grow throughout their adult lives.
Donna's commitment to her community was admirable. As an Executive member of the Reserve Mines Seniors & Pensioners Club, she volunteered weekly to provide hot meals to members of her community. She leaves a lasting impact with her kindness.
Visitation will be held in T.J.
