EHLER, George Freeman, passed away March 11, 2024 at the age of 101, at home in Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia.
A gentle man who is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Roberta (Thorne); stepson, Mark (Donna) Thorne, Halifax. He is also survived by his sister, Sarah Urquhart; brothers, Lowell and Percey.
George was predeceased by both his parents, Elizabeth, and Freeman Ehler; his first wife, Vera (Hendsbee); sisters Margaret, and Evelyn.
He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas with the 10th field dressing station as a medic. Later George was a postmaster with Canada Post working out of Bedford.
Love his kind voice, his eyes, his smile.
Love his fun laugh, his heart, his style.
Love that he’s mine,
Love being his wife,
Love my sweet man, the love of my life……
As per George’s request there will not be a service. Burial will take place privately with family.
