Thinking of my dear cousin Don this evening and praying for comfort and peace to everyone who holds him so dearly in their hearts. A few years back now I guess (where does the time go?) he and I had a wonderful chat at Tim Horton's after going to see a pre-showing of one of the Marvel movies I happened to have tickets to. We talked for hours in the middle of the night. It was such a spontaneous and fun visit. As always, he was his typically cheerful, smiling, kind-hearted, and dear self. We shared many laughs and thoughts, some even serious, haha, and I'm so grateful to have had that time to spend with him. So many fond memories over the years... May God bless you and keep you always Don, you were cherished and loved by so many, including me. I'll miss you.
Liz

Dear Shirley, Rollie and Corrie,
We are saddened and of course shocked by the loss of your dear son/brother, Donald.
We remember him in his young years on Oceanview Drive, particularly when playing in our basement with Corrie, Carmen and Melisa. They loved playing ‘Airplanes’ and ‘House’ though no one wanted to be mother. They also enjoyed Birthday parties and walks together-down Rocklyn to the jump off rock, Bluestone to the Bog or Wharf, or up Oceanview to Maureen’s.
Donald did some incredible drawings at an age when most kids were still drawing stick people. He also loved his fireman’s hat and car.
We hope these reminiscences help you during this difficult time.
With much sympathy
Doreen and Kwan

I shall always remember how delightful Donald was as Scott's Best Man and how much his friendship meant to our son Scott. A memorial brick is being placed by the MacPherson family in Donald's memory at the International Children's Memorial Place, South Freetown PEI. Keeping you in our prayers.

I've had the privilege of working with Don ever since fourth season of Lexx back in 2001. He was always refreshingly upbeat, friendly and willing to help. In all those years I only ever saw him lose his cool once, and it really was justified. We both shared a love of cats. He was an excellent generalist 3d artist: a great problem solver with real tenacity. He could do almost anything, so I wasn't surprised to find that the studio elevated him to directing. I miss him already.

Thank you, Don, for rolling dice and creating stories. For all the board game nights and D&D. Your characters casual stroll through a dragons hoard is in my top tier favorite game days. Thank you for the chaos, the laughter and fun. And thank you for all the hot chocolate.

Even though Don and I worked closely a couple of times, I got to meet him at the IOM Holiday Party in 2022. His stellar personality shined even brighter in person. It always made my day knowing we're assigned to work together, because it was so easy to click with him and we got so much done while joking around all the time. I hope he knows how much of a role model he is to me. Such a lovely, kind, and generous soul

I hope the massive outpouring of love for Don will bring you some comfort. He was a fiercely loyal friend, a talented artist, a brilliant thinker. His antenna for the feelings of others was finely tuned and he was always checking in with people or doing something silly to lighten a hard day. Generous with strangers (he was always the best tipper), colleagues and friends, he had an innate drive to be of service to everyone he met. I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all and wishing you strength and peace.

It’s been a few years since I have had the pleasure of working with Don but I was fortunate in that we would often have chance encounters. It was always so very nice to see that beautiful smile of his.
May he rest easy, as he is remembered so well and with such care and regard by so many.
My sincerest sympathies to his family and dear ones. Wishing you all peace, love and comfort.

Don was thoughtful, generous and lots of fun. A kind person and a great friend over the years; every time we reconnected it was as if no time at all had passed. Sometimes I’d forget that we DIDN’T go to high school together! He was also a pleasure to work with - knew his business and was always willing to find a solution. Many of us will still be thinking fondly about Don for a long time to come.
Thank you to his family for sharing such a lovely person with the world - my sincere condolences on your loss.

Don was a great guy, and an excellent problem solver. We’d always laugh over whatever production issue arose (mostly on a daily basis) and we’d always figure our way through it with jokes and sarcastic banter. I knew him to be a smiling ally in the career we shared of making cartoons for kids. He was one of the best of us, gone too soon. Be at peace, my friend. Good bless.
