MELVIN (JACK) LITTLER
Beloved husband of Claudia Littler and devoted father to Jackie, Kyle, and Angela; grandchildren Brandon, Cameron, Cole, and Levi. Jack passed away peacefully February 7, 2024, in Glace Bay Health Care Facility following a short battle with cancer. Born in Toronto, Ontario he was the son of the late John and Catherine Littler.
Jack attended Saint Anthony’s School and graduated from Vocational School in Sydney. Following Graduation he completed his Millwright Apprenticeship at Devco, transferring to NSPC. Jack retired from Syncrude in 2022.
Outside of his family and his beloved fur babies who you could see proudly displayed on his arms, Jack’s greatest love in life was riding his Harley across Canada and United States on numerous bike trips. Jack enjoyed his many Caribbean trips with his wife, family, and friends. He loved to tinker in “his man cave,” the garage. He was a devoted friend to all, always being there whenever needed.
Anyone who knew Jack knew how strong of a man he was, never complaining about his illness but dealing with it, he had the utmost strength and courage. Those fortunate enough to have Jack in their lives were truly blessed, his spirit and kindness touched everyone in an incredibly special way. We did not have him long enough, but his heart and courage will be in our hearts and minds forever.
He is survived by his wife Claudia (Penny), sons Jackie, Kyle, and daughter Angela (Edwin); brother John (Sheila); sisters Gail and Charlene (Roy); mother-in-law Helen Penny; sisters in law Cora (John), Lana (Patty), Chris (Bridgette) and Lowell; Jack is also survived by grandchildren Brandon, Cole, and Levi; nephews and nieces Tony, Donnie, and Maurine, Nathan, Brittany, Breanne, Austin, Griffin, Todd, Krista, Amanda, and Kelsey.
Special thanks to Anne Thorton for helping Dad in his time of need.
Along with his parents Jack was predeceased by grandson Cameron John Littler, birth parents Marie and John MacDonald, father-in-law William Penny.
