Sending my condolences to Eric and all of Grants family. He was one of a kind. I always enjoyed our chats, both as his customer at AVB and later, when he would pop in to visit at the shop. Whenever I saw him pull up in front of the showroom I'd just put down my pen, sit back, and prepare to be entertained. He was always very kind to me and made me smile.
My he, and your Mother, rest in peace.

We were so privileged to live next door to Pat and Grant for over 20 years when we moved to beautiful St. Margarets Bay. Upon moving in we met Grant who immediately became our Mr Fix it Guy, always at the ready to repair lawnmower, plumbing etc. etc.
Through the years as our friendship grew we had great times and have such fond memories of sailing on Terrica, ski trips, shared dinners and of course drinks on the deck with family and friends on sunny hot days.
Grant was a great friend and neighbour who wanted to live out his days in The Bay.
You got your wish dear friend, may you rest in peace.
Our heartfelt condolences to Taira, Eric and family, your Dad was one of the best Terry & Eileen

I have known Grant for more than 30 years - not sure exactly how many. Every encounter was a pleasant experience. His cheerful and positive attitude always brightened my day. I profited from his advice on boat maintenance, as well as other topics. He will be missed. Without his contribution those of us who remain will have to work harder to keep the world a happy place.

We would like to pass along our sincere condolences to Eric, Taira and the entire family on your Dads passing. We have known both Grant and Pat for over 40 years as part of our large extended Allen Heights family. Over the years we have all shared many glasses of wine and great meals with all our friends. As one gets older it becomes clear (as the songs says) that we are here for a good time not a long time. Grant and Pat were both wonderful people and will always be part of that large St. Margarets Bay family! I do remember one time years ago we went sailing the day after a hurricane on the boat. Being prone to seasickness even in a bathtub I made it to Clam Island and told Grant we need to go home and now!!! Being the gracious host he turned around and headed back to the wharf and I promptly went home to bed!! I have forgiven him for never letting me forget I was a quitter!! We want to apologize we will will be unable to attend the Memorial next week as we are on grandbaby duty in Calgary and Ontario. I will be sure to raise a glass of red wine and salute a great person and wonderful neighbour. And of course lots of prayers for both Grant and Pat as they are reunited again in Heaven. So long our friend and fair sailing until we meet again!
You will remain in our thoughts,
Michael & Gwen Crowell

The last time I have raced, was with Eric, Grant and Robbie a couple summers ago. A great day on the water. And we won by a few miles thanks to the old man.

For 33 years Grant stood outside by Paul and shared his expertise on all manner of projects, yard work and sail boats. His neighbourly camaraderie will echo in our yard and on the waterfront for years to come. A truly one of a kind neighbour and friend.
“Paul. Where were you for the last hour?” I thought you were just taking out the garbage.”
“Oh, well. You know. I bumped into Grant on the driveway…..”
Our sincerest condolences to Eric, Taira, and their families.
