I met Lewis Frederick Turner, a longtime Bedford, Nova Scotia resident, for the first time at a ceremony for the late Queen Elizabeth II at the Fish Hatchery Park in Bedford on September 19th, 2022. This image was made with a Nikon D3400 digital single lens reflex camera using an 18 mm - 55 mm standard lens in the Program shooting mode. Lewis Turner was a husband, a father, an uncle, a historian, a photographer, a videographer, an active member of his community, quite spiritual, had joy in his heart, love in his soul, and was liked by everyone. Lewis is missed by many, including myself. He was a good soul and a friend to many, including myself. We shared a passion for capturing life around us, in the form of photography and videography. I wish that I knew Lew for longer, as I believe that we would have been good friends because of the activities that we had in common of photography and videography. He is gone but not forgotten. Rest in peace, my friend.

If I were to pattern my life after someone, Lew would be the ideal person. I have no idea where he found the time to do all the back breaking work he accomplished around his property, in addition to the thousands of hours he participated in helping other's out. We had many memorable trips in the ol'van. R.I.P. my friend.

I'm very sorry to learn this sad news and extend my deepest condolences to Lew's family and friends. My aunt and uncle lived in the same neighbourhood for decades and always spoke fondly of Lew and his wife. I only knew him from Facebook and have immensely enjoyed his nature photographs. Rest in peace.

I wish to send my deepest sympathies on the passing of your precious Lewis.
I had the pleasure of knowing this fine gentleman. He definitely was a great role model and an appreciative individual. I always enjoyed our talks and seeing his captivating photography. I always knew he was a devoted family man and loyal friend to many. He truly was a cherished person here in Bedford and will be greatly missed.
Remember - you give his the best, your time and your love - for these are the greatest gifts to give another. The bond that you share will always be there. As each day unfolds, my God give you the strength and comfort at this difficult time.
It truly was an honor and privledge of knowing Lewis. May his wonderful personality continue to shine and be carried in your hearts.
I send much love, warm hugs and prayers in all that you need. Please take care and God bless.

Thank you Lew for your life and how it intertwined with our family from your boyhood days growing up in Bedford to your family life with the adventures we went on. John do you remeber that cranberry picking day and the storm lake we had to cross on the way back? Your dad left us on shore and hoofed it to get a bigger boat to ferry us to safety. To me watching that superhero he was moving quickly through the bush will always be in my memory. God Bless you Lew have many more adventures with June.

My memories of Lew go way back to seeing him working for MT&T (up power poles) providing on-line audio hookups for us doing CBC TV programs. After we both retired, we enjoyed many morning coffee breaks at McDonalds. I always looked forward to his interesting pictures of nature and many events around Bedford. His smile and greetings will be missed by us all. Rest in peace, Lew.

I had the pleasure and privilege to meet Lew and have many discussions with him during a course we took together at BUC >20 years ago. He didn’t have a lot to say but when he did speak it was very thoughtful and wise. He shared some of his photography which was stunning. What a wonderful person. My sincere condolences to his family.
