To the Slade family, please accept my condolences on the passing of Vic. He was an awesome ballplayer, teammate and close friend. Vic was a skilled first baseman, an adept batter, with speed on the base paths.
Vic played softball with the Glace Bay Oland's Bay Byes, capturing the 1968 Maritime Senior B Title. He and the team are inducted into the following hall of fames: Maritime, Cape Breton, and Glace Bay.
Vic loved the outdoors, was a talented musician and singer. He loved entertaining. Vic will be truly missed but not forgotten
