Veronica Christine Feargrieve, 80, of Halifax passed away December 27th, 2023 at QEII – Halifax Infirmary – CCU. Born in Reading, Berkshire County, England she was the daughter of Bertha Lucy King and Leonard Frederick King.
With a Stenographer’s designation at age 16, lead to a career as a legal and medical secretary. She travelled to Canada where she got married and had 5 children. She loved horse riding, participated in barbershop singing (Halifax Chimes) and travelled with them to compete in various competitions. She was an avid gardener and environmentalist. In her late years she found activity and community with Emanuel exercise classes and Chebucto Links Seniors programs including lawn bowling, crib and most recently pickleball.
Veronica is survived by her sons, Gavin Feargrieve, Christopher Feargrieve, David Alexander Feargrieve; daughters, Alison Marie Feargrieve, Kerry Lynn Feargrieve; brother, Alan King; sister, Mary Heffernan; grandchildren, Liam Feargrieve, Leyton Feargrieve, Gabriel Feargrieve, Lachlan Feargrieve, Elise Feargrieve-Hirschfield, Owen Feargrieve-Hirschfield, Rowan Feargrieve, and Brody Feargrieve; and many nephews and nieces.
Veronica is predeceased by her mother, Bertha Lucy King; father, Leonard Frederick King.
We, her children, would like to extend a special thank you to anyone that was a friend to our mother and provided companionship and support. The value we have placed on your involvement in her life can not be underestimated. Sincerest thanks.
