Obituary of Elaine Diane Vassos

Elaine Diane Vassos (Peitzsche), 80 of Halifax passed away November 16, 2023 at Victoria General Hospital. Born in Sydney, Cape Breton she was the daughter of Lee Peitzsche and Helen Peitzsche (Gallagher). Elaine worked 37 years an Associate Sales Clerk at Brother’s Meat and Deli. She loved playing crib, bowling, reading books and gardening. Watching her favourite T.V shows, Coronation Street, 90 Day Fiancé, Law and Order, SVU and so many more. Elaine Loved to cook her famous Kibbeh, baked goods such as pies, cookies, birthday cakes, date squares, and especially homemade bread. An occasional drink the firepit with family and friends brought her much joy. And she loved her cats Joey and Nola. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Arthur Vassos; sons, Richard Vassos(Debbie), Darren Vassos(Karen); daughter, Lisa Vassos; step-brothers, Philip Cullen and Gary Cullen; step-sister, Janet Lamirande (Cullen); grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her parents, Lee Peitzsche and Helen Peitzsche (Gallagher); brothers, Cary, Ronnie, Tony, Junior and Terry Peitzsche; and stepmother, Muriel Cullen Arrangements have been entrusted to T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax. Visitation will be held November 21st, 2023 between 4pm and 6pm in T.J Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialist, 71 McQuade lake Crescent, Halifax, NS. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Special thank you goes out to all of our friends and family from far and wide whom offered so much love and support during our loss, and a thank you to the wonderful staff of the Cobequid Emergency and V.G Hospital & Palliative care unit 7A. Our mom was the strongest and most loved woman, our Rock.
