Obituary of David Eric Peter Boulton

BOULTON, David Eric Peter. Age 76, of Middle Sackville, NS. We are sad to announce the passing of Dave October 20,2023 in Dartmouth General. Dave was born and raised in Halifax, NS. He was a retired member of the Halifax Fire Department, joining in 1968 after learning his trade in the RCAF. He was especially proud of his time as union president of the Halifax Fire Department. Dave lived a life full of adventure, whether it was fishing with his sons in Labrador, camping in Alaska, raising and showing his prized Labrador retrievers, or wintering with his wife in Florida. He loved hockey, volunteering his time as a minor hockey coach with his brother Bob, and coaching his son Eric to the N.H.L. The most important people in his life were his wife and sons whom he dearly loved. The family would like to thank friends and neighbors for their support during Dave's short bout with cancer. Survived by his beloved wife Helen (Burke) Boulton of 55 years; sons, Peter (Wendy) Halifax, Eric (Ryan) Buffalo NY; four grandchildren, Aidan, Sawyer, Ryder, Reaves; step-grand daughter, Madison Cromwell (Bobby Orkish); and their sons, Austin and Riley; brother, Robert (Patrica) Boulton; Sister in law, Penny MacDonald. Predeceased by his parents, Reginald Boulton and Eileen Wright Conrad; and his parents in law Stanley and Penelope Burke. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to the fire fighters and paramedics who were so caring and compassionate towards Dave. Donations may be made in Dave's memory to The Nova Scotia Firefighters Burn Treatment Society or The Halifax Minor Hockey Association. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service or visitation. Burial will be in PEI at a future date.
