Condolences to the family. In 1986 we bought the house on Brookside Road from he and Jeanette, and we still live in it 37 years later. It's turned out to be very well constructed, and we still love it; a lasting legacy to Karl.

Dear Jeanette, Darren, and Joanne, I am so sorry to hear of Karl’s passing. My heart is heavy, thinking that I may not cross paths with him. I will never forget his kindness and support. By and large, I joined the Canadian Armed Forces due to his encouragement. I look back very fondly on getting to know the Knox family back in the day when Janet and Karl opened their home to me as I moved from living in Sydney Mines to Halifax. There are so many great memories of him that I will cherish. The last time I saw him, I think, was around Christmas 2004, in typical Karl fashion, he and Jeanette took me to lunch at Smitty’s and then drove me to the military base in Greenwood so that I could take a service flight back to Ottawa. On top of that, he and Jeannet gave me a huge pair of stuffed bears as a gift, which I still have today. Who does that?
I could go on forever about him, but I will sum up by saying I will never forget his love and support for his family, his warmth, and his compassion for those in need. Once again, my condolences.

My deepest condolences to the Knox family. Karl was the most selfless men I ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was such a sweetheart, always there to lend a hand and help in whatever way he could. Jeanette, I think of you and Karl often, and was so saddened today to read of this great loss. Karl was a man who was very family oriented, he would climb the highest mountain or swim the roughest seas without a second thought to assist a family member. I only was part of your family for a very short time but he left a lasting impression that I will always remember. Karl you will be missed by many. Love and hugs especially to you Jeanette..

Karl was one of the most selfless men I ever had the pleasure of knowing... the true epidemy of selflessness. He was an exceptional husband, father and especially grandfather. He loved his grandchildren more than life itself and would be there for them night or day. His family always came first in Uncle Karl's life. He was always there for anyone who needed him, and he has done so...... much for so many in our entire family. Karl helped his brothers build their first homes, supplied cars for family members when needed, and was always there financially if anyone ever sick or needed anything. Karl's passing will leave a huge void in our family and gaping hole in our hearts. I will miss Uncle Karl, each and everyday of my life. I love you Uncle Karl, rest in peace and I hope you are reunited with your family in heaven, who I know were there to greet you. Until we meet again.... your niece Darlene Mountain-Taylor
