So sorry to read of John's passing. I new him well from the Green Dory days years ago, he was just the best! always friendly and a big smile. He didn't take any BS from any the Patrons that may have tried to give it to him. He was loved by all. I was pleasantly surprised years later when I moved to Hatchet Lake to see him at the store in Whites Lake serving up the best take out! RIP dear John you will be missed.

John was so kind to our family. He always wanted to know if the kids were behaving themselves. He'd watch them down and around the store and report back if he felt they were getting in trouble. David sold Christmas trees by the store for many years and John was very kind to him making sure he ate lunch or supper. So sorry for your loss.

I just recently heard of John’s passing. I knew John from the Whites Lake store. John was a gracious and kind man who loved to chat and help people out. After the store closed I met John at the Halifax shopping centre and he was still the same gracious person. My deepest condolences to the family.

John
We always will remember your kindness and support in our community of Whites Lake and surrounding area (Prospect). As young teens you loved it when we hung out in the parking lot, keeping the store safe and drinking the "lobsters". Oh the mustang burn outs you witnessed over the years.
We will never forget you and your family John. We can still hear you answer the phone "Whice Slake".
Thank you for the memories and being part of our family.
Rest peacefully John
Thinking of your family
Love from all of us in Prospect

Our condolences to Ipioni and family. John was well liked and respected in our community and was a fun loving man who enjoyed his time after retirement sitting with the guys at the food court in the shopping center. Rest In Peace John and I am sure you will meet some old folks from our area in Heaven.

Saddened to hear of your loss.
I met John at his store in Whites Lake in 1990 when I moved
to that area. We had many conversations at the back of the store where he worked his heart out providing his customers with excellent takeout meals. He generously donated to many local fundraisers and was never too busy
to strike up an interesting discussion especially about politics.
I still have a set of worry beads (κομπολόι) that he gave me
and they are one of the few material things that I treasure.
May he rest peacefully.

Sending my deepest condolences to the family!
I absolutely adored John spent a lot of time over at the store. I can remember after I had my wisdom teeth out telling my mom take me to John's cause I wanted my clams and chips lol and I got them!! Always enjoyed having a coffee and a smoke chatting with him ❤

We are very saddened to hear of John's passing. John was a very kind man who loved all he came
in contact with. He would always ask how we were when we came in the store. John would visit
our home with Tim Hortons coffee and donuts and we would have the most wonderful chats. He was
so thoughtful and kind. Prayers to lpioni, Panos and Geroge Rest in Peace our friend.

Dearest condolences to Ipioni and the boys as we called them.
John was a special person to our family, mom and he worked together and they had a time of it!
So much laughter in that store in White’s Lake!
He was a generous man to many in the area. The kids always seemed to get candy or French fries!
He left a mark with that smile and big hello bellowing behind that meat counter!
The days of good portions and tasty food with John behind the counter!!
Hugs to you all from our family to yours!
Tina, Hubby, Tim, Terry, Tyson and all the other members.
