William 'Alex' Alexander Morrison, 63
Glace Bay, N.S.
It is with sadness we announce the peaceful passing of William Alexander Morrison of Glace Bay on September 27, 2023, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by many of his friends. Alex was born in Glace Bay, Cape Breton on January 10, 1960, and was son to the late John J. and Sarah B. Morrison and was also predeceased by a sister Diane Gillis. Alex is survived by his nephew Allan Gillis (Jennifer) and great nephew Robert; niece Kelly Lynn Davies (Paul) and great niece Crystal Dawn and great nephew Brandon; his brother Richard and Aunt Norma (Benny).
Alex was a well-known radio personality and was considered by many to be the voice of the Canadian Little League Championships in Cape Breton. He had a passion for sports, and it was a part of his life from baseball, softball to hockey. He was most proud of being part of the 1972 Glace Bay Little League Team that went to the Canadian Little League Championship, which was the first Glace Bay team to make the journey. He loved golfing with his friends and the endless amounts of laughter they shared will always be remembered. He was always available to volunteer his time for events that involved kids all year long, whether it be at the field or in the rink.
He recently went back to school and completed in 2023 a Business Administration Diploma at NSCC. In his early days he travelled the Island with his then Party Patrol DJ Business and over the years played at hundreds of weddings and special events.
