My heart is breaking. My sincerest condolences to Alex's family and friends. Alex and I were friends for over 45 years and we always made time to go for a drink or coffee when I came home to CB. I will remember his big, hearty laugh forever, and how proud he was of bettering himself by taking his BA course. Rest easy, dear friend.

I was saddened when I heard you had passed. Even though we didn't hang out much these past decades the memories when we did still are present in my thoughts. I haven’t seen Alex in a long time but remember him fondly. I met him at CJCB, when I was just starting my career. His kindness, patience and humour was so appreciated. Alex’s friends and family: my deepest condolences on your great loss. One could always tell when Alex was near as you could certainly hear him before you saw him. He was loud and had a presence you’d not soon forget. He was also kind, never forgot a friend and gave the best hugs.

Much laughter we shared when I came home for a visit, no matter how late it was, you would always make time for chat, coffee and just going for a drive out Mira. I'm so sorry to hear about Alex. He was a larger than life character who I've known since Little League. He was quick to help out to emcee events for Glace Bay Minor Hockey over the years and he added a whole new dimension to whatever he was announcing, whether it was a tournament or banquet. He was great at it and loved doing it as he would say, " for the kids " . RIP Alex. You will be missed.
