Dear Bill, I had to take a couple of days to process Pat's passing. My sister, Janice told me, since I'm not on Facebook. Words will never express how overwhelmed I feel and how hollow words sound when one is trying to convey how sorry and sad we are for the family at this time.
We were children together, we were classmates together and you and Pat welcomed me into your posse in late high school and our early years in university. Your friendship meant a lot to me and we had good times in your basement on Hare Avenue and our late night noshes at Jasper's in Sydney River. AND all the rest...such good times with good friends.
My heart goes out to you, your father, Pat's wife and all your family and friends who knew him so well.
May God's loving embrace uphold you all during this time of sorrow and help to bring peace.

This hits close to home. Pat and Bill are two of my oldest friends having lived across the street from each other for may years in our youth. We may have went in different directions as we grew older but I still have fond memories of those days. Wether it was reading comics in your parents car on rainy days, skating on your backyard rink or playing tag on your front lawn until the fog horn went off to go home. I was shocked when I heard the news. From my family to yours I send my deepest condolences.

Our condolences to Anna, Bill and Frank. Pat was one of the nicest people I've ever known. Always in a good mood, always up for a chat, always had a food recommendation. He and Bill were welcome fixtures at our house during high school and I was pleasantly surprised when we ran into him up here, at Kent. Always sought him out for a catch up whenever I was there. Lucky to have been able to spend some time with him.

Dear Anna,
I am so very sorry that Pat has left you physically and I know that he is very much with you spiritually because of his deep love. He struggled valiantly to overcome his pain and I have been so impressed with your care and concern for him. You have many happy memories which will sustain you.

Even 3 days later i am still in disbelief . Except i know that Aunt joan was there to bring you home, and when you see my mom [aunt Fran] tell her we miss her. I have no words to express our grief over your passing. Anna, Dumeresq and I send our biggest hugs and loving thoughts to you. Pat was the most outstanding, kind and patient person we have ever encountered. He always made time to talk to anyone, about anything. We knew anytime we needed a calming presence, we could go over to the Flooring Dept or find him at his desk somewhere in Kent and he would always bring such peace and light to any conversation. Frank, Bill, and all of Pat's family: I am so very sorry to hear of Pat's passing. He was a wonderful young boy in elementary school at Fairview, and we always shared laughs and good chats whenever we bumped into each other, especially when he was at Kent in Halifax. I still remember the first time I met Pat. It was in Kent while we were looking for materials. His radiant smile, enthusiastic demeanor and warmth made it feel like we met an old friend rather than a store employee. He was one of those special people that you instantly loved. It was also obvious how much his own family and friends meant to him. He just made this world so much better! A true man of courage and kindness.

He was not just a man who worked hard he was a fair leader of men. he formed an online group in a game he enjoyed with many others. He was a connecting force for other wise perfect strangers. his 1st Royal NovaScotia tank regiment in world of tanks will continue on. his name forever etched in our minds the battles he led the defeats we equally suffered.
