I first met Timm in Calgary in 1983 when we both attended Mount Royal University’s broadcast program. I loved his gallows humour and keen subversive view of the world. I can still remember riding in his old late 70’s vehicle (may have been a near full size Cougar) as we played ‘Panama’ by Van Halen. Timm would replace ‘Panama’! with ‘Hannebohm’! For the past 40 years, I have always sang Timm’s version of that chorus. When our gang would gather, things always became more entertaining when Timm arrived. He was one of a kind. I’m saddened he’s no longer on the planet. But I’m grateful to have been around him, if only for a brief time. Take care of yourselves.

Broken heart, deep sadness doesn't describe how I feel now that you are no longer with us. My family and I will always miss you and the wonderful man that you were. Be at peace my brother and give Mom a kiss from all of us.
We are so sorry for your loss Sandra.
May you know in your heart that the gifts of laughter, words of wisdom, your father gave you are yours forever as well as the memories you created.
God Bless You, Love Erika and Family

Tim was a close friend and trusted film friend. I met him when I lived on elm street across from the Irving - he worked late night shifts there because he was a writer and it gave him time to write and “meet the most interesting of characters”. We were working on a documentary together and became very close coworkers often spending time at Easter and Christmas together getting to know our documentary subject. He would always check in with me - maybe I should have checked in on him more.
He was so smart, thoughtful and talented, I loved the unique lens in which he viewed the world and always felt so privileged and special that he shared his thoughts with me.
He always bragged so much about his daughter and all the amazing work she was doing.
He deserves a far better bit of writing from me which I will figure out and send in when I’m not in shock.
I’m so sad.
