Obituary of Philip Osmond
Please share a memory of Philip to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Philip Osmond. After a brief but hard fight with cancer he breathed his last on August 7th surrounded by loved ones.
Known to many as Ozzie or Phil, Philip was a man of many passions. He loved music (especially blues), enjoyed cooking and bbqing, and was happiest when he was less than a stone’s throw from the sea. He loved to tinker and always had a project on the go. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, and he loved helping people.
He is survived by his wife, Tanya (Levy) of Big Tancook Island; first wife, Diane MacPherson; and their sons, Ryan (Sarah) of Coldbrook NS, and Colin (Vanessa) of Kelowna BC; brother, Gary; and his grandchildren who he loved dearly.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Fred; sisters, Ruth and Betty; and brothers, Jack, Fred, and Derek.
Donations can be made in his honour to the Nova Scotia Division of the Canadian Cancer Society.
He will be returned to the sea in a small service on Tancook Island. He would love it if you raised a glass in his honour.
Fair winds and following seas, Phil.
