Obituary of Paul Pender Nickerson

Paul Pender Nickerson, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 17, 2023, at the age of 79. He was known for his humour, kindness, and a deep passion for sports. Paul's memory will forever be cherished by his wife, Karen, and his loving sons, Craig (Cindy) and Adam (Alexis). Born in Halifax in 1943 (son of the late Frank Russell Nickerson and Marie Margaret Nickerson), Paul's dedication and devotion to his loved ones were unwavering. He leaves behind a family who will forever be grateful for the impact he had on their lives. Paul found great joy and fulfillment in being a grandfather. He adored his grandchildren, Taishi, Kenji, Thomas, Ryan, Harry, and Elise, and took immense pride in their accomplishments and growth. His love for them knew no bounds, and he leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in their hearts. Sports played a significant role in Paul's life. He was an avid tennis player and golfer, finding solace and joy on the courts and fairways. He relished the challenge and camaraderie these sports offered and created lasting friendships through his shared passion. Paul was a member of the Cathedral Church of All Saints since his childhood. While he served in many capacities throughout his life, Paul felt unparalleled joy each Christmas season. His eyes would gleam with delight as he witnessed the pews filled to capacity. To honour Paul's life, a memorial service will be held for family and friends at Cathedral Church of All Saints, 1330 Cathedral Lane, Halifax, NS on Saturday June 24th at 11am. This gathering will be an opportunity to share stories, celebrate his life, and find solace in one another's company during this difficult time.
