As a mother, I couldn’t ask for a greater grandfather to my children nor a greater example to my husband. Paul’s love for his family was unwavering. I’m heartbroken knowing how much we will all miss him.
Paul was papa bear to me. Many times he consoled me and encouraged me when life became challenging. I will miss his humour, his conversations, and his chowder.
Paul was a great cook and I gladly gave up my kitchen so he could delight us with a fish fry, a Christmas Eve chowder, or an incredible Christmas dinner, complete with the most delicious trifle.
Paul embraced my big family and brought a lot of laughter to our family gatherings here in Ontario. I know how much my siblings and their families will miss him, too.
I will cherish the many memories at the cottage, in Hawaii, in Ontario, and in Florida and I will especially cherish the Christmas memories in Halifax.
Until we meet again, Paul. Thank you for being the best.

Karen, Craig, Adam, and families. I'm so sorry. I have fond memories of Paul for as long as I can remember. He welcomed us with open arms every visit, babies and all, giving the best chowder and guided tours. I am grateful for our lovely get together late last year.
