Obituary of Christa Leann McLean

Christa Leann McLean, 44 Glace Bay, NS We the family and friends of Christa Leann McLean, 44, of Glace Bay, are heartbroken, to announce her passing on Sunday, May 28, 2023, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Christa is the daughter of Nancy (Kipping) McLean and the late Melvin McLean. Christa had an interest with Tattoos, and was proud to show off her artwork, and each one had a story. Christa was known for her passion of sports and played high school Rugby and Hockey from 1995 to 1997, as well as youth darts, and later in life joined and participated with adult mixed darts leagues and tournaments and was an avid Montreal Canadiens Fan. Christa graduated from UCCB in 2000 with her BACS Degre. Her favorite hobby was Diamond painting and was a perfectionist of Online Shopping. Christa enjoyed spending time with her son Jeremy and her mom, who was also her soulmate, as well as spending time with her friends. Christa is survived by her mom, Nancy; a son Jeremy McLean-Lynk; godmother Glenda Lewis; godfather and uncle Garth Kipping; sister-in-law Sonya McLean, and niece Haley McLean; a grandson Hunter MacNeil; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Christa is also survived by the “girls”, Mary Dearing, Melissa Cormier, Sharon Pyke, Danielle Murgatroyd, Susan Stevenson, Rose Marie Abbott, Vanessa Spencer, and Cara O’Flaherty, who have been together through thick and thin. Along with her dad, Christa was predeceased by a brother Robert McLean, grandparents Elizabeth and Alexander McLean, and Robert and Tamar Kipping. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 1, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life to follow, in T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199. Interment will be held in St. John’s Cemetery, Wallace Rd., Glace Bay.
