Obituary of Derek Gilbert Devison

Devison, Derek, Age 72 of Halifax passed away surrounded by family March 10th , 2023 in QEII Health Science Centre. Born in “Tablehead” – Glace Bay. He was a son of Roderick Frank Devison and June (Wheeliker) Devison. He spent his working career as a dedicated employee of Quinhall Investments Limited working at Quinpool Towers for 24 years until retirement. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He had a love of the outdoors often spending hours four-wheeling, working in his garage repairing items or building his own creations. He loved working around his four acres in East Dalhousie on Lake Torment and volunteering with other members in the community - enjoying time with his good friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Darlene (Thibodeau) of 49 years; his daughter, Dawn and son-in-law, Craig Skinner; his son, Darren and daughter-in-law, Emi (Mori); his grandchildren, Donovan and Thane (Skinner), and Liam & Connor (Devison); his aunt, Sheila (Wheeliker) Gilbert, Buddie, and numerous cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents; his parents; his brother, Keith; and several aunts and uncles. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, (902) 835-4212, 71 McQuade Lake Crescent, Halifax, where visitation will take place on Thursday March 16, 2023, from 12:00-1pm, with a funeral service at 1pm.
