Carl Allison William Lantz, 54
Frenchvale, N.S.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father and son, Carl Allison William Lantz on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Carl was born on January 7, 1968, and is the son of Charles and Valerie (MacInnis) Lantz.
Carl was a graduate of Riverview Rural High School and the Nova Scotia Community College, Port Hawkesbury. He was employed with Nova Scotia Power, Point Aconi as a Millwright, Heavy Mechanist and Welder for the past 30 years, where he was highly praised for his work ethic.
From a young age Carl was known as an avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman. He loved Duck Hunting, Four Wheeling, Mud Runs and Racing Competitions with his 79 Z 28 Camero, which he hoped Charlie will follow in his footsteps. No job was as important to Carl as being a husband to Pam and a proud father to his pride and joy and only beloved son Charlie.
Carl was involved in Minor Hockey from a young age and was considered an Elite Player that always played on a Rep Team. He instilled this passion in his son Charlie, where he guided and coached him throughout his Minor Hockey Years. Carl was a well-respected Cape Breton County Minor Hockey Coach for many years, where he brought the team to finish with top Honors, while touching the hearts of many players.
He was a lover of animals, especially dogs, and was an owner and breeder of Labrador Retrievers. He was very active in exhibiting and showing his Morgan Horse, Caleb.
Carl is survived by his beloved wife Pamela (Anderson) and son Charlie; his parents Charles and Valerie Lantz; father and mother-in-law, Grant, and Yvonne Anderson; brother-in-law, Paul (Mila) Anderson, Ontario; several aunts, uncles, cousins and best friend and cousin, Darren Bennett, as well as friends Adam Watson, Albert Phalen, Mike Muzalin and fur babies Remington, Ellie, Nova, Princess, and Roxy.
Predeceased by maternal grandparents, William and Jennie MacInnis; paternal grandparents, George Allison, and Helen Lantz; Best friend Dale Young, and cousin Clayton MacInnis.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Sydney River United Protestant Church, with Rev. Dana Feltmate presiding. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, N.S. (902) 849-4199.
