To all of the Boone Family. I had a close connection with your family, Anne as my piano teacher, Gladys my classmate and close friend and with Alice and Leo (now Father Leo). Leo’s sense of humour is what I remember best. His laugh and good times are what come to me when I look back at my times with him and the family. I want to extend my sincere condolences to the family at this time, along with the comfort in knowing that others (even remotely) share in your loss. God Bless!

My deepest condolences to the family of Father Leo. I have some wonderful memories of him as our pastor at Saint Joseph's in Port Felix. One of the earliest memories was he accompanied our High School trip to Halifax in 1984 for Pope John Paul II visit; he got most of our youth involved in different ways in Parish Life and attending Diocesan Youth Camp; was an encouraging voice and heart when I was discerning my vocation to the priesthood; was a priest that I would say was very close to the people. I was just preparing in the last couple of days to send him an invite to my 25th anniversary as a priest - I guess now he will be with us in a different way. God Bless you all as family. Know that we mourn with you. I pray that Fr. Boone is experiencing the delight of the Heavenly reward, for all his good deeds and his labors go with him, and will not be forgotten by those he served as Pastor, friend and father. Fr. Gerald David

Thank you for thinking about us at this time. We will miss him so very much. He was the one in the family who enjoyed a laugh and a party and took that into his work in his parishes. People were drawn to him and he did so very much for everyone we couldn't be more proud of his accomplishments. Miss you guys! Ann

My deepest condolences on the passing of your family member, an exceptional Priest, am incredile Knight of Columbus and one of my closest friends. I had the greatest opportunity to travel with Father Leo and Everett to many Knights Supreme Conventions as well as so many other Knights events over the years. It can be truly said "He was one of a kind". His humour, king words and love for all was truly outstanding. I will miss him so much and pray that I may meet him someday in the fullness of time.

Leo was one of the most sincere and humble brother priest I have ever encountered at the seminary and during his priesthood
It was truly a gift to count him as one of my most faithful and affirming friends.
It was like yesterday, that we celebrated a down east Lobster dinner for all the visiting seminarians and priests who attended his ordination
in Glace Bay, and First Mass in Dominion, Nova Scotia in 1980.
We lovingly entrust him to the mercy of God who he served as His priest for many years.
May he now rejoice for ever in the communion of all the saints, with his family and friends who await our arrival to the Beatific Vision.
Requiescat in pace dear brother.
Until we meet again !

May the memories that you cherish as a family, bring you comfort as well as your Faith in the Risen Lord. With sympathy, prayers and understanding.
