Obituary of Roger Charles Gosselin

Please share a memory of Roger to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Roger Charles Gosselin Marion Bridge With a shattered heart I regret to announce the passing of an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and my absolute best friend Roger Charles Gosselin on April 19, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Liverpool England on January 12, 1954, Roger was the son of the late Georgina (Marsden) and Roger Clement Gosselin. At the age of 12 Roger and his family immigrated to Canada, he graduated from the RCMP in 1979 and relocated to Cape Breton, where he thought he would spend the next six months. As it turned out he embraced the people here and they embraced him. Rog and I had forty-two incredible years together. Roger left the RCMP in 1990 to own/operate the Bonnie Prince Beverage Room and Daniel’s Bar. Later he returned to school and in 2006 obtained his MBA in Community Economic Development from Cape Breton University. Rog loved his life living on the Mira with his family and best buds, Penny, and Abby. Roger is survived by his wife Brenda (Truckair) Gosselin, a son Roger Matthew (Natasha Sifnakis) Gosselin, daughter Leah Danielle Gosselin; brother Kenneth (Diane) Gosselin and sister Simonne (Michel) Lambert; brothers-in-law Wes (Helen) Truckair and Joe (Diane) Truckair. He is also survived by his beautiful grandchildren Luke and Sirena, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. At Roger’s request there will be no visitation, and cremation has taken place under the care and compassion of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay. 902-849-4199. A Celebration of Roger’s Life will be held in Marion Bridge at a later date. Words of comfort may be expressed to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com.
