We were very sad to hear of Jimmy’s passing. He was a good friend. I had a lot of good memories from Alberta, playing hockey and working together at the Edmonton Remand Centre. Jimmy had a great demeanor and could always put a smile on your face. It was always good to have a fellow Cape Bretoner by your side back then. He will be missed, Godspeed Duffy.

John MacPhee from Bridgeport. Jimmy (and that's what I called him) and I shared a classroom all the way through Bridgeport school, and played ball together in Little League. He was a friend that I lost track of at that time, but met again in Edmonton in 1981. We weren't close but we were friends. We had a few great nights in Edmonton, with both of us pining for home over a few to many beers. He got back but I didn't, and I honour his choice. I pass my condolences to all his extended family but particularly to Patricia, Doreen and Robert who are close enough in age to possibly know who I am. He was a nice guy with a rich personal life. He will be missed.
