I remember meeting Brenda in Halifax in 1972 when I shared a room with her sister, Cathy Gouthro.
Cathy and I attended Dalhousie University together and it was so nice to meet Brenda, who was so worldly, beautiful and kind. She and her family were always generous with their time and friendship.
My sincere condolences to the family.

Sincere Sympathy to the Gouthro family and friends of Brenda on her passing. My mother (Helen Mugford of Glace Bay) was a friend of Brenda's parents and my late husband (Charles, of Neville Street) a long time friend of the entire family. It was a pleasure knowing them and delightful remembering them, especially Kay with her music and Matthias with his banking, and Charles with his educational growth and then teaching. We were among those who introduced Brenda back to life in Cape Breton and I am sure she has enjoyed that return beyond words. Family and friends will hold her in their hearts as she Rests in Peace.

I am so sad to hear of Brenda’s passing. She put up the good fight with courage and optimism. I feel so fortunate that I was able to see her the day before her death. Brenda had been a friend for the past thirty years. She had always been so gracious and kind to me when I was in the Boston area, often staying overnight at her condo. She was friendly, generous, and welcoming. She so loved each of her siblings and was always excited and proud to talk about the adventures of her nieces and nephews. She always held each of you very close to her heart. Brenda will be missed, but never forgotten. Sincerely, Cathy and Dan MacDonald- Seklecki

My beautiful tía (aunty) Brend....
There are no words to describe the kind-hearted person you were. We sure had a lot of memories together, especially when we visited you in Boston...
It was so heartfelt to say goodbye even if it was through facetime a week ago on Saturday.
We will all miss ya.
You were such a great sister to my mom. Always watching out for her and saying... "Lisa... your daughters are not kids anymore... LOL!!!!" She will miss you a lot!
You were so dear and loving to all your family and friends.
Every time I listen to James Taylor, Jessie Cook, Country Music, and of course Cape Breton music... I think of ya. It was so great line dancing with you and aunty Kathy last time I was in Cape Breton.
Te quiero mucho mi tía hermosa y muchos besitos..
Lisa Marie,, your niece.
With love.. Andrés, Matías and moi...
p.s.... I do not like this Pig and I do not like this bow... LOL!!!
