I’m so sorry to hear about Marguerite’s passing. She was one of a kind. It was a joy to be with her. Marguerite and I started school together
At Holy Angels in 1935, and remained friends. I live in Ottawa, but we kept in touch and had a long visit each year I came to Sydney to see my sisters. I will miss her this year. She loved her family very much, and was so proud of you all.
May she rest in peace.

In addition to the wonderful fun we had playing cards, sharing memories and laughing with Paul, Sister Therese, Elaine and Marg after my dad’s death, I have another special memory of Marg. My daughter Bethany and I went to Antigonish to join in a celebration of service for Sister Therese at the covenant. Marg spoke very candidly about her struggle when her sister left the family for the convent and her journey of faith towards acceptance of her sister’s decision and the community of nuns. She was very vulnerable and shone so brightly because of her love for her sister, the community of nuns and strength of faith. Ii am very grateful for the opportunities to interact with marg… a very special soul! My prayers are with the MacNeil family as you navigate the death of this wonderful person❤️

The last time I saw Aunt Marg I was with my sisters and her siblings. We all met in Antigonish in 2018 after the death of our dad, Roland. Everyone had the most wonderful time catching up with each other and sharing stories. It was clear that Aunt Marg loved her family, had boundless energy, a great sense of humour and loved playing cards!
My sincere condolences to the MacNeil family on Marg's passing. Aunt Marg was such a special person and will always be fondly remembered.

You are in my thoughts and prayers today as you celebrate the life of your mother. Aunt Marg was an amazing woman and I have so many memories of her caring nature as she journeyed with our family through the many joys and struggles life brings. She was the family historian and I never ceased to be amazed at how she could remember it all. Even in our last visit this summer, we heard a full update of her larger family and how proud she was of all. Find comfort in your memories and be certain she will not be forgotten by those she touched. May she rest in peace.
