Lisa Diane MacEachern
Glace Bay, N.S.
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden unexpected passing of Lisa Diane MacEachern at home on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of Ruby (Turner) and Layton (Sonny) MacLeod.
Lisa left a lasting impression on everyone she met; always smiling, and a truly kind and thoughtful person, Lisa valued doing things for others. She had a strong affection and compassion for animals and was continuously active and loved her daily walks and exercise routine. In her school years, she was an avid athlete and always partook in gymnastics and basketball, as well as singing in school and church choirs and participated in the MGBHS Operettas. Lisa was a huge Montreal Canadians fan and a season ticket holder for Cape Breton Eagles. As a child she enjoyed her summers at the bungalow in Indian Brook. Lisa had many special people in her life and recently reconnected with some very special old friends.
She is survived by her mother Ruby, sister Laurel Beth (Bruce), brothers Lincoln (Denise), Lowell (Mary Lynn). Sisters-in-law Kim MacLeod, Cathy (Jean) Boudreau, and Joan MacEachern; Brothers-in-law Bernie, Michael (Joan) and Ronnie MacEachern. Nieces and nephews Sara, Billy, Angus, Liam, Fraser, Carter, Moira, Colin, and Emily. Her much-loved cat Butterscotch, and many special aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Along with her dad Sonny, Lisa was predeceased by her husband Harvey and a brother Layton; grandparents Albert and Violet Turner, Billy and Aurora MacLeod; as well as her dog Molly and cat Patches.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Cape Breton SPCA, St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church or a charity of one’s choice.
